Board of Directors Meeting


BOD meeting began: July 21, 2021; 1P.M.

 

 

1.                  The attendance was taken. See Chart Above and Roll Call: John Rowan ,Tom McElhenney, Wm Hartnet, George Savastide, Fred Grundel, Bob Boisselle, Vincent Mogavero; John Aradi, and Invited Guest Mike Miller.

Continuation into General Meeting with like agenda items.

  1. Pledge of Allegiance. Statement of Motto and query regarding members in need. 
  2. Doug opened general  meeting with discussion of the Scheduled street fairs each Sunday. Please the Home page for details.
  3. Repairs and inspection of the ‘old bus’; dry cleaning of several Indigent Flags due to water damage.
  4. Various DMV, EZPass and NYS Thruway discounts for Veterans with disabilities were discussed and forms were provided by Paul Feddern. Paul and several other members confirmed the benefit as very effective.  
  5. Brooklyn Veterans Appreciation event polling for donations. $100 seemed to be the consensus.
  6. De: Email for discussion of ‘Discretionary Funds’ report was completed in advance by Maspeth Town Hall. Required on signature.
  7. Issue of Chapters’ 40th Anniversary and combining with Holiday Party was discussed. Intent is to use the Posts’ Hall and to invite Post members to attend as well. Ongoing planning stages. 
  8. At the onset of the meeting the Chapter disbursed 14 Stop-n-Shop Gift Cards and 1 Duffel Bag. (likely due to West Coast fires a number of members were absent.) Further discussions were indicative of preference to repeat next month.
  9. Phil discussed progress on Chapter WD Cloud.
  10. National Convention is in planning stages, venue is in Greensboro, NC. Chapter 32 is eligible for 5 members to attend as delegates or individually at personal expense. 
  11.   12. Election results were finalized with national and NYC Sponsor.

 

 

  1. Discussion Continuing  regarding 'Emergency Contacts' with information developed at last meeting
     
  2. Funding is available for items such as wheel chairs, walkers, as well as duffel bags for members. Wheel Chairs will be managed by Maspeth Town Hall. First distribution was gratefully accepted by Glory Ann (PLAV)  in support of her husband.
  3. John Rowan, Nat'l President VVoA; Southern District Director was present and addressed the meeting.
